Comfy Canines

Dogs on Sofa’s project started in 2019 where I began photographing a series of rescued dogs in their now forever homes. I chose to photograph dogs on sofa’s in the living room as a way of showing the lifestyle they now live. A dog that was once unwanted, now gets to relax on the furniture, which can be seen as a pet being ‘spoilt’. The coronavirus pandemic then hit in early 2020 which prevented this project from taking place. I then decided to see how I could adapt this project outside, as the outdoors was the worlds escape from the pandemic. This is where Comfy Canine’s began. Whether being in the garden or going for your 1 hour permitted walk outside, the outdoors had a positvie benefit on people’s wellbeing, when we had to stay at home, along with our pets. I wanted to combine these two elements together to create something different, inviting all dogs to take a seat.
